Seollal Special: Female Korean Idols in Hanbok

Hanbok (한복; 韓服) is still important in today’s Korean society especially during special events and festivals. During Seollal, Koreans wear their hanbok and bow to their elders. We’ll talk more about the Seollal customs in the next article.

Seollal Special: Male Korean Idols in Hanbok ^^

Yesterday, I did an article on Female Celebs in Hanbok. Today we’ll look at male idols in their Hanbok which Koreans usually wear during the festival of Seollal (Korean New Year).

The Korean Minstry of Culture and Tourism encourages the people to wear Hanbok. The Korean idols who are the role models of the young people do their part by wearing Hanbok during the New Year. Let us see how the guys look with the male Hanbok (한복)!

So, who looks the best in their Hanbok?

Possibility #1 : Jingook/Hyun Shi-hyeok  (진국/현시혁) :  Taecyeon (택연)

If you look back at episode 1 of Dream High which they show the topstar K, the backview of the top star seems to resembles Jingook the most and can definitely be popular again after Baekhee tells the truth on why he beat up Director Yoon.  He had already the largest fanbase in Group K so he could highly be possible to be K.

Chance: 8.5점/10점

Possibility #2 : Yoon Baekhee (윤백희) : Eunjung (은정)

According to Korean netizens, Baekhee may the highest possibility. In episode 14, the news article which featured the molestation scandal labelled her as “Miss K (K 양)”. According to translation of allkpop, she said during her footage 

 “Right now, the title of ‘finalist K’ is something golden to me, and I will work hard to become that K which represents all of Korea. Look forward to what I can do.”

 Kim Soohyun and Bae Suzy also predicted the character “Yoon Baekhee” to be the most sucessful character in the future. No doubt she is the most hardworking character and went through the most out of the rest of the characters. Could she be “K” ?

In the previous article, I mentioned the 2 possibilities of the topstar K. For this article, I’ll talk about the other possibilities.

Possibility #3 : Song Sam Dong (송삼동) : Kim Soo Hyun (김수현)

Being the first male lead, he stands a good chance. Song Samdong is known for his impressive musical talent. He continued to persevere with his musical talents despite having hearing problems. In my opinion, he stands the highest chance. Could he be K?

Possibility #4: Go Hyemi (고혜미) : Suzy Bae (배수지)

She was supposed to study in Julliard School but was forced to attend Kirin High School instead to pay her dad’s debt. She was self-centered but ever since she attended Kirin, she has changed. Her chance of being K is low but who knows?

Chance: 5점/10점

Possibility #5 : Jason (제이슨) : Jang Wooyoung (장우영)

The top student and was part of Group K. He can dance well but doesn’t have ambition. However, after Kim Pil Suk’s motivation, he changed.

Possibility #6 : Kim Pil Suk (김필숙) : IU (아이유)

Pil Suk has great determination. She lost 30 kg in 200 days. Together with Sam Dong, they are the most musical talented.

Chance: 5.5점/10점

Possibility #7 : All 6 of them!

Since they’re auditioning in EMG, it might be highly possible that all six of them will become top stars! … We really hope so…

Dream High' Cast Set for Musical Reunion in Japan

Bae Yong-joon, Park Jin-young and other stars of the popular Korean TV series "Dream High" will reunite for a large-scale concert in Japan this fall, according to Japanese cable network DATV, which is currently re-airing the show.

DATV and Japanese entertainment agency Avex plan to host the concert, tentatively named "Dream High Premium Event 2011," at the Super Arena in Saitama on Sept. 4. It will feature Bae, Park,Kim Soo-hyun, Bae Soo-ji, Ok Taek-yeon and Wooyoung among others.

"Dream High" was a sensation when it aired in Korea, consistently ranking No 1 in terms of viewer ratings. Following its success among Japanese satellite TV subscribers, it will be broadcast on terrestrial TV channels in Japan at the end of July.

Will There Really be Dream High 2 with Suzy’s Sister??

The attention for the younger sister of Suzy in Dream High, Park Eun Bin, is staggering.

Park Eun Bin came out on the last episode of Dream High to act as grown up Go Hye Sung. Hye Sung matured to become a bright and cute student at Kirin High in the seven years that passed. She also kissed Taecyeon on the cheeks the same way she kissed him when she was younger.

The fans were very curious as to who the girl was in the last episode. The fans wrote, “That face is familiar, who is that?”, “Could she be the main character for season 2?” showing lots of interest in the fresh face.

Park Eun Bin started her acting career when she was really young. She started as a child actress back in 1998 and came out in dramas like Queen Sunduk since then. On various forums, there are threads saying “So was Park Eun Bin picked for season 2?” and “Season 2 with the story about the growth of Hye Sung up to the point of her success will be very interesting to watch.”

In response, the KBS representative said “The viewers’ interests in Park Eun Bin was staggering. We think it may bring in a very interesting result to use her in season 2 of Dream High.” Also, the Dream High staff said, “Park Eun Bin was able to get lots of attention in the short time frame that she came out on the drama. I think it’ll be fun to take the fans’ advice and use her as the main character for the second season.”

Eunjung & Kim Soo Hyun New Couple For WGM? WAW!! ^^

The staff of “We Got Married(우리결혼했어요)” recently has shown interest that they will be selecting Eun Jung (은정) of T-ara and new actor, Kim Soo Hyun (김수현) to replace Adam’s Couple (Jo Kwon and Ga-in).

Ever since the Adam Couple left the show, the viewership has been falling. With the success of Dream High, this may help to boost the viewership. Although the roles of Eunjung (who played as Baekhee) and Soohyun (Sam Dong) did not interact much, behind the scenes, they seemed to be in very good terms (see interview). What’s more, it’ll be really interesting to see a new collaboration. If you have liked my facebook fanpage,you would already know that they just did a commercial together. They’ll probably work well if they really become the next couple for We Got Married!
